Is Telos Medical Aesthetics a physician-run medical aesthetics clinic?

Yes. Telos Medical Aesthetics is owned and run by Dr Bradley Bartholomew, who has been a practicing neurosurgeon in the New Orleans area for over 30 years. Dr Bartholomew graduated from Tulane University and Tulane Medical School and is board certified in Neurological Surgery. His extensive background in head and neck surgeries gives him a unique understanding of the complex anatomy of the face. Dr Bartholomew uses his extensive knowledge and experience with intricate and delicate procedures to provide comprehensive care for his patient’s aesthetic needs. In addition, Dr Bartholomew oversees all patient care at Telos Medical Aesthetics and has experienced Registered Nurses working collaboratively with him to ensure each patient receives the best aesthetic outcome possible.

What type of treatments do you offer?

Our medical spa in Metairie offers a comprehensive array of treatments to address a variety of aesthetic concerns. What’s more, the treatments can be specially tailored to achieve the patient’s desired outcome, whether a more subtle enhancement or a more expansive makeover. At Telos Medical Aesthetics, patients get an individualized approach to their beauty treatments that starts with an in-depth consultation.

Do you offer a referral program?

Yes! At TELOS, we love when you share your experience with friends — and we believe you should be rewarded for it. With our Refer a Friend program, you can earn up to $50 in rewards when you refer a friend who completes their first treatment with us. It’s our way of saying thank you for spreading the word! Rewards can be used toward eligible services at TELOS, making it even easier to treat yourself. Ask our team during your next visit or give us a call to learn how to start referring today!

Do I need Botox, filler or both?

We center your unique lifestyle, current skin health, and aesthetic goals to build a treatment plan that prioritizes safety and results. It’s not uncommon that a combination of wrinkle relaxers + dermal fillers is most effective in meeting our clients’ overall needs. Long term, we may also recommend adding a combination of radio frequency and laser resurfacing treatments, depending on your unique facial anatomy and aesthetic goals.

How do I know which brand of filler or neurotoxin I need?

When you walk into Telos Medical Aesthetics, you can leave your worries at the door. There’s no need to spend your valuable time laboring over the decision between Botox, Jeuveau, or which type of filler—our experts already have all the knowledge, training, and skill level to make these recommendations for you.

What can I expect during my consultation?

During your consultation, you’ll meet one-on-one with a member of our Telos team. They’ll ask about your relevant medical history, your skincare routine, and your aesthetic goals. Then they’ll examine your skin (or other appropriate treatment areas) and build out a treatment plan tailored to your goals, lifestyle, and budget.

Do you accept walk-in appointments?

We don’t accept walk-in appointments. Scheduling our patients in advance allows us to dedicate enough time to each patient. Our emphasis on tailoring treatments to the individual sets us apart, ensuring each client receives a customized experience that aligns with their specific goals and preferences. We go beyond conventional approaches by integrating the latest advancements in technology, guaranteeing that our clients benefit from the most innovative and effective treatments available.

Can I do anything to prepare for my filler or Botox appointment?

Yes. Here are the primary pre-care instructions we provide to all clients when they book their dermal filler and neurotoxin appointment in Metairie, LA.

To Avoid Bruising:

  • Start using Arnica 3 days prior to your treatment by dissolving 5 pellets under your tongue 3 times a day.
  • Avoid Vitamin E, Omega3’s, Aspirin, Aleve, Ibuprofen or other NSAIDs starting 7 days prior.
  • Avoid alcohol (especially red wine) for 3 days prior.

Additional Pre-Treatment Recommendations:

  • Hydrate with water the day of your treatment and avoid caffeine, to help minimize discomfort.
  • Taking Vitamin C (2000mg daily) and Zinc several days before and after treatment can help with healing.
  • Avoid sunburns, irritation, and redness.
  • Avoid retinols or other exfoliating acids to lessen the risk of irritation.

How do dermal fillers work?

Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid (HA), which your body naturally makes and breaks down. HA fillers can be used to replaced lost volume, smooth lines and creases as a result of aging.

Is medical-grade skincare better than over-the-counter?

Medical-grade skincare contains a higher concentration of active ingredients, and go through more rigorous testing. We offer the highest quality medical grade skincare products for our patients. For your skin’s health, safety, and the efficacy of these products, we recommend a complimentary consultation to recommend the best products for your unique needs. With this custom-tailored treatment plan and product recommendations, you’ll enjoy exceedingly better results than over-the-counter products you may find at a department store or pharmacy. Our registered nurses and aestheticians are available both by telephone and in office to answer questions about any of our skincare products.
